OUR SOLUTION
Watch How We Reimagine Ship Recycling!

CIRCULAR. SAFE. PROFITABLE.
From the largest ocean going vessels to clean steel plates in a matter of days, through innovation in process and technology – that is the CMT Marine Metals solution.

The Process
The Marine Metals dismantling process consists of technologies that have proven themselves in other industries, and are further developed by Marine Metals. They all work together to turn a ship into high quality elements, with the main output being clean homogeneous steel.

OUR SOLUTION
How? Watch How We Reimagine Ship Recycling!
At the Marine Metals yard, ocean ships of up to 350 meters long are dismantled. Because the entire process is automated, the yard can process more than 50 ships per year. In one week, the ship is turned into high quality metal products.
From Ship to Steel
Marine Metals has developed an innovative way to cut a ship into slices and blocks with a wire saw. The blocks that are cut off from the ship, are then moved to the automated block processing units. These consist of different stations with automated robotic arms. In 8 minutes, a block of ship is completely processed into clean steel plates. These are then ready for transport to manufacturers, who will turn the yard output into new hiqh quality metals.

Safety first.
Humans and environment are never at risk.
We go full circle.
All Marine Metals systems are designed to enable circularity for every element.
Maximum throughput.
High production capacity results in a highly positive business case.
Automation as driver.
The Marine Metals process is fully automated, with human controllers who can intervene at any moment.
Reuse as the norm.
The Marine Metals yard uses a lot of process water, which is entirely cleaned and reused.
Clean energy.
The Marine Metals yard runs fully on electric equipment, and generates its own electricity from ship waste. In fact, a Marine Metals yard saves 1,7 million tonnes of CO2eq emissions compared to regular scrapping practices.
Safe investment case.
Thousands of ships for the next decades, a rapid increasing demand for scrap steel: Marine Metals provides a circular investment opportunity with maximum security and return on investments.
